how so? I'm asking because I'm bored out of my wits, and I want to go dancing.
Asking for everyone's favorite colors would get me no where.
Sounds good njmac, thanks :).

Are they some of these? (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&query=PowerBook+17) Some of those bids seem rediculously low for someone to be selling them...:(

Hmm... After it's done with the first CD, and it's rebooting, the CD is still in there, right? I believe that the mac continues to boot off the first CD until the second is needed. The HD isn't booted from until the installation has finished. Once it's done with the first CD, and restarts, try holding down the "C" key to ensure it doesn't try and boot from the HD.
Actually, after the first CD is done installing, the installer boots from the internal HD (or at least, it should). The installer then continues pulling from the CD to finish the installation (if there is more needed, you actually don't need the 2nd CD for a fully functional system).
You can try doing a custom install with only the minimal install features and see if you can at least get a bootable system. Then you can do additional installs from the 2nd CD directly from the Finder, you just have to navigate to the packages that you want to install.

Actually, it would be, "I stills gots me nine mores," because 3 others are also estranged.

What a sweet deal! I would love to buy a second one as a backup simply because it's such a great price, but I don't want to be greedy. I don't imagine these will last too long.

Basically, I want to get an ibook, either refurb or used--just something cheap that will do internet (wireless), word processing, and that's about it. I have a biggger mac for storing music burning dvd's etc.
There's a nice ibook on the refurb page right now. My question: if I let this one pass will something else come up on that page pretty soon or is it a rare thing to find this kind of deal.
My reason for not buying now is because I did not plan to get something this soon, and money would be a tad bit tight to spring and get it right now. Should I spring for it now (aka credit card) or is it safe to wait for this deal to surface again?
Thanks for the reply BTW :)

I'm taking the summer off, and after having saved up quite a bit of money, I'd like to visit Europe. Here's my current plan, and I'd really just like some input from fellow board members that travel a lot, have visited these places, etc.
(...)
Spain > France
I'll work my way around the south of France, before heading up to Paris.
(...)
Thanks!
Coming from sweden I've always enjoyed the following in france:
Southern part:
* Bordeaux (area) - nice red wine district - you can go sampling at most chateaus.
* Marseille (area around) - nice sandy beaches
* Carcassonne (city; one of the few wholly walled castle-cities)
Northern part:
* Normandy (area)- many nice museums and especially land marks from WW2
* Bourgogne (area) - another nice wine district, distinct differences to bordeaux
* Champagne (area) - this is where champagne is made, equally nice
There are a lot more to see in france of course, but these are the things I've appreciated the most (though normally not all wine districts on the same vacation - I'm not a drunkard :p )

I also think he refuses to acknowledge that the "estranged" exist, if I remember the Louis Theroux documentary correctly.

So I have a 2009 Mac Mini which I installed boot camp on and a windows 7 buisness 32 bit installation. It now only boots into that operating system. Holding down the x,c,alt/option keys at start up do nothing. The only thing it seems to respond to is the mouse to eject a disk. This probably means I have a bad keyboard but I typed this entire post with it and I don't have another keyboard in the house to test the theory with (except PS/2 inputs).
Any thoughts? Unfortunately I just brought this mac mini from school and left all my disks there so it might just be I didnt finish the boot camp install in windows, is there any way to get around this?
Thanks!

There's nothing to avoid really. It's near the best version of lemmings since the Amiga ones.
A brash thing to say! I'm expecting this to be an inch shy of perfect now.

I logged into my account to verify an iTunes store purchase (why you have to confirm a purchase of a free app I will never understand) where I found someone else's account information. It's my Apple ID and email, but it is their name, address, phone, nickname, and credit card number. Has any ever seen this before? Has there been recent news about Apple's servers being compromised? Does this mean someone else is looking at my information? There's no way I will be reentering the correct information until Apple can convince me my account is secure.

Personally, I can't even fathom still being on 3.2.1, considering how many changes/features have been added since then to 4.2.1. And considering how easy it is to jailbreak, it's a total no-brainer.

I'm a teacher who has brought his class every year to MacWorld. We always come on Friday. I don't think that any booths close down on Friday until the late afternoon. My kids like the fact that vendors are more willing to give away free stuff on Fridays.
So...I don't think it would be a waste of your time.

One suggestion: open the known-working Xcode 3 project in Xcode 4. Build it. Make sure it works.
If it works, then use it as a known-good reference to check the non-working project.
If it doesn't work, then figure out why it works in Xcode 3 but not in 4. It may be an Xcode problem, or it may be a faulty assumption in the project that just happens to work in 3 but not in 4.

It's not just a mall store, Apple is nothing like any other mall store. First no mall stores offer full benefits & retirement packages to there employee's only managers and above. Second the benefits and hands on training is incredible and they use you and train you so that you will be ready to work at 1 Infinity Loop or Maden, NC at the billion dollar facility. Plus they give you all the training in the world to be a teacher, educate another, work for other companies using Mac products and the list goes on and on. Yes they have an intense application process but once you're in with Apple you connections will never seise to grow. The atmosphere as well is fun, exciting and different than any other store.
It's still a mall store to me

I have never, ever heard of anything like this happening on the Underground; but then again I'm only 14 so I haven't been around that long in the grand scheme of things :P
No matter how slow it was rolling its still a big deal, even the slightest bump from another car can derail especially with the condition of the tracks on da tube
Yeah, I suppose, but the actual tunnel has only just enough room for a train car, so it would be less of a deal. Could still damage the tunnel wall though I suppose. It is pretty bumpy on most of the tracks in the UK I think.
