Hi,
When I came into the United States, they documented my fingerprints. Now I want to apply for a reentry permit. Do I still have to pay for the Biometric fee? What exactly is it for?
I would really appreciate any help on the topic.

I got a soft luds on my previous H1B which was approbed in 2007 Feb and a Case Status Information email for I-140 which was approved in Dec - 2006.

I think you should send a copy of the 485 Receipt notice.. This is a classic, Right hand not knowing what the left hand does situation with USCIS..
I received an RFE for my EAD renewal.
It says "Please submit proof that you have filed an I-485 Application"
I have a copy of my receipt of I-485. Would that be enough to send? Why would they ask for proof of I-485? This is my second EAD renewal.
Please let me know.

I have the following status working with the original H1B employer who filed for my green card petition:
1) PD Jan, 2007, EB3-I
2) I-140 approved and pending AOS
3) 2 yrs. EAD available, expiring Sep. 2011
4) H1B will be expiring within 3 months (1 year left from 6 years limit)
My questions,
1) Can I use EAD instead of extending H1B? I want to stay with the same employer as a
full time employee.
2) If yes, is it required to inform INS? How and when?
3) In that case, how me, my son (middle school student, H4 & pending AOS) and wife's (EAD & pending AOS) stay in US will be justified with no valid I-94 (assuming I am not extending H1B anymore) ?
Answers to my above questions will be highly appreciated.:confused:

If the employer agrees not to revoke the 140, Can I change the employer after getting EAD. 485 application is pending but less than 180 days.
My project is getting over, and it seems hard to find a h1b job.

FWIW as long as you are on H1 I think your family can always get a H4 visa outside the country based on your H1 status and reenter on H4 if that is also being considered.

Your I-94 should be valid as long as your H1B is valid. If you applied for H1B extension they will give you new I94. It should be at the bottom of your 797, please check your H1B approval notice.

1) Annotation on the visa i.e the name of the company sponsoring the visa or its blank.
2) Is it B1, B2 or B1/B2
B1 is for business where as B2 is for Visiting. B1/B2 allows both.

Well, if the process is enter a name into some application to await a response, then I would pay 15cents a name. Why pay $4?
